Alice Green Martin, of Randolph, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 13, at the age of 84. She was born in Halifax County to the late Armstead and Rosa Lacks and was married to the late Lewis E. Martin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Marlow Lacks and a sister Margaret Hazelwood. Alice was a member of The Wylliesburg Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Wylliesburg. She is survived by daughters; Lucille Welch (Tee) of Randolph and Mary Rosa Clay of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three sons, Tommy Martin and James Martin of Saxe, and Ervin Martin (Sherion) of Suthernland; twelve brothers and sisters, Peggy Dyer of Halifax, Hazel Thompson (Cecil) of Virgilina, Polly Lacks of Randolph, Daisy Hatcher of Saxe, Ida Smith Of Chase City, Dolly Dyer (Jerry) of South Boston, Barbara Davis, Sharon Matthew (Dwight) of Virgilina, Michael Lacks, Richard Lacks (Judy), Sterling Lacks (Sharon) of South Boston and Betty Robbins of Chase City; grandchildren, Anthony Welch (Katie) of South Boston, Tammy King (Robert) of North Carolina, Chrisie Martin of Saxe, Tabitha Nortan (Donnie) of Flordia, Eugine Martin (Tina) of South Boston, John Shaffer (Maggie) of Alaska, Eric Shaffer of Danville and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn King, Mackenzie King, Mallory Martin, Landon Griles, Brantley Griles, and Taylor Weatherford. She also had numerous nieces and nephews, her beloved church family and friends. Graveside services were held on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2 pm at Wylliesburg Evangelical Presbyterian Church cemetery with Rev. David Wood officiating.
