Betty Hicks Church, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 1. Betty was born to Noah Aquila and Mary Meadows Hicks on Nov. 10, 1938. She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Michael and Adaline Belle Church and Madison Hope Blount; her parents; and her brothers, Edward “Bootsie,” Rhesa, Linwood, Willie, Bennie Lee, Lonnie B. and Billy Ray Hicks. 

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Freddie James Church; son, Mike (Audrey), son Larry “Pete”; four grandchildren, Sam Church (Alice), Chelsie Novitske (Dylan), Chris Miller (Brittany), Amanda Blount (Mark); six great-grandchildren, Lily, Levi, Kaylee, Hannah, Sawyer, and Aubree; brother, Raymond Hicks; and sisters, Lucy Evans and Edith Martin. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 4, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, with interment to follow in the Ash Camp Cemetery, Keysville. The family will receive friends at the home following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Charlotte County Rescue Squad.
