On Thursday, October 22, Thomas David Jackson, Sr. peacefully made his transition in Farmville. He was born on May 27, 1929 in Randolph to the late David and Louise Jackson. At age 17, Tom moved to California where he joined the United States Air Force, which he served for four years and received a honorable discharge. For many years, Tom thrived in construction and was a respective member of the construction workers’ union. In later years, he returned home to Randolph. He was preceded in death by brothers, Louis Jackson, Herman Davis, Henry and Robert Jackson; sister, Susie Brogdon; daughter, Tonia Jackson; wife, Juanita Jackson and son, Ralph Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memories, sons, Thomas Jackson, Jr., Frederic and Curtis Jackson; daughter, Brenda Jackson Harrison; sisters, Jenny Brogdon, Mary L. Green, Louise Ophelia Ferrell and Shirley Jones; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside Funeral Service were held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31 at Galilee Baptist Church in Randolph. Interment with Military Rites. Service of Comfort was provided by Dupee’s Funeral Home of Drakes Branch.
