Charles Mosley, age 93 of Keysville, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 7, at Salem Veterans Medical Center in Salem, where he resided for the past six months under the watchful care of doctors and the medical team. Born to Mrs. Jennie Lee and Mr. Steward Henry Mosley on April 26, 1927 in Drakes Branch, he was the youngest of five boys. He spent the majority of his adult life in Amytheville, New York and New York City, but always had a love for small town environments and being closer to family and old friends. Upon retirement, he returned home to Drakes Branch. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; the oldest of his two daughters, Mattie Lou (Mosley) Longsworth; and four brothers, William “Sonny” Nathaniel, Wavely, Junius and Buster Mosley. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Gentry Mosley and daughter, Margaret Mosley Blair of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters, Tosha Longsworth Tucker (Ryan) of Garland, Texas, Keisha Blair Gressett of Dallas, Texas, and Jessica Blair Ross (Micah) of Kyle, Texas; five great grandchildren, Parris, Haleigh, Zion, Kinleigh and Elijah; two nieces, Gloria Jean Mosley of Long Island, New York and Marva Mosley Walton (Winfred) of Buckingham; two sisters-in law, Mary Elizabeth Gentry and Lucille Gentry Beans of New York City; brother-in-law, Raleigh Hodge of Charlotte Court House; and a host of great-nephews, cousins, special neighbors and friends; closely bonded with cousins, Darlene and George Walton, Ronita Bowie, Dorothea Mosley Knott, all of Drakes Branch; Mae and Joe Ferguson of  Brooklyn, New York; special friends, Mary Wilson and David of Keysville…all of whom helped him often when needed as his health had begun to impact his mobility and self-care. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
