Mrs. Lillie Mae Pugh, age 91 of Charlotte Court House, passed away on August 30, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Emmett Pugh, Sr. and Mrs. Lucy Reed Pugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph “Jay” McCargo; five brothers, Roosevelt, Anthony, Clyde Wilbert, Julius Sr., and Emmett Jr.; two sisters, Irene McBride and Ruth Baynes. She is survived by her loving children, Carol (Joe) McCargo, Robert (Marsha) and David (Tarsha) Pugh all of Charlotte Court House, Sandra (Austin) Goldman of Greensboro North Carolina, Bernadine (Daryel) Whitehead of Keysville, and Angela (Joe) Davis of Amelia; eleven grandchildren, Brittni (Devire’) Robinson of Huntersville, North Carolina, Robert Jr. (Mary) Pugh, of Meherrin, Jasmine Goldman of Charlotte North Carolina,  Daryel Jr. (Tiyanna) Whitehead of Virginia Beach, Brandon (Jasmine) Pugh of Chesterfield, Courtney McCargo of Richmond, Dante Pugh, Abilene, Davon and Tehya Pugh of Charlotte Court House, Leah Whitehead of Plano, Texas and Makayla Davis of Amelia; seven great-grandchildren, Devin McCargo, Ava and Dean Robinson, Christian and Jordan Pugh and Caleb and Noah Whitehead; two sisters, Avon (Dennis) Dean and Lucy (Richard) Washington, both of Bronx, New York; two sisters-in-law, Hattie Pugh, Appomattox and Cora Lee Pugh, Columbia, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Holice Baynes of Baltimore, Maryland; two BFFs, “Best Friends Forever” Patricia Tucker and Evern Andrews and two dedicated caregivers, Betty Morgan and Deborah Harvey; and host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A private funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Pavilion with interment in Union Cemetery in Charlotte Court House.  Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Brookneal.
