Betty Gray Dickerson Holt, was born on Monday, April 24, 1944 at Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, VA. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 22, 2019. She was the first-born child of Monroe Wilson Dickerson and Nellie Gray Taylor. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Douglas Holt. Betty is survived by her two sons, Timothy W. Holt (Rhonda) and Christopher D. Holt (Cynthia); five grandchildren, Ashley, Gabriel, Chance, Casey and Carly; one brother, Carlton M. Dickerson; and one brother-in-law, Samuel W. Holt. Betty was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church. She served her community as a nurse at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, for 43 years.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27, at Drakes Branch Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, with graveside at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Phenix.
