Chris Roberts Martin of Scottsburg, VA passed away June 13, 2018. He was born in Halifax County, VA on October 7, 1966 and was 51 years of age. He was the son of the late Joseph Lacy Martin and the late Mattie Powell Martin. He was married to Lily Crews Martin who survives. In addition to his wife Chris Martin is survived by a daughter, Stephanie L. Crews and fiancé Harold Duffey of Charlotte County; a son Joseph L. Martin and fiancée Katie Crews of South Boston; four grandchildren, Hailey Jade Hudson, Anthony Dale Hudson, Jasmine Hudson and James Dean Duffey; two sisters, Joyce Ann Guthrie and husband Jack of Nathalie, Linda King and husband Tommy of Nathalie; two brothers, Willie Martin of South Boston, Jimmy Lacy Martin and fiancée Debra Peade of Nathalie; a host of nieces and nephews, and cherished friend for over 30 years, Johnny Asal Sr.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Crews Hudson and siblings,

Debra Josephine Martin Woolridge, Dorothy Mae Powell, David Martin and Ricky Martin, Sr.

A service was held Monday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday, June 15, at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home of 1016 MacDonald Road, Scottsburg, VA.
