On Friday, Nov. 13, Randolph P. Walker Sr. went home to be with the Lord. He served in the Army National Guard from Mar. 19, 1964 to Mar. 18, 1970. After working at DuPont in Richmond for ten years he returned to the family farm where he raised cattle, tobacco and grains for the rest of his days. He was preceded in death by his parents Hezzie P. and Lois V. Walker. Randy is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Etta M. Walker; his children Paul (Rhonda) Walker, Vickie Richardson, Elaine (Chris) Tharpe, and Billy Walker; ten grandsons, Robert and Randy Walker (Paul), William Walker (Chrissy), Spencer (Jocselyn), Zachary and Aaron Richardson (Vickie), Cody (Kate E.), Cameron (Kendall) and Collin Tharpe (Elaine), Brent Walker (Billy). He had one granddaughter, Bailey Walker (Billy); and one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Leigh Tharpe (Cody). A funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 15, at Concord Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with interment to follow. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.
