Simuel Lacks, Jr., of Randolph, passed away December 21, 2016. He was born in Halifax County on May 18, 1932 and was 84 years of age. He was the son of the late Simuel Lacks Sr. and the late Bessie Myrtle Lacks Lacks.

He was a member of Eureka Baptist Church and he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Simuel Lacks Sr. is survived by two sons, Ted Lacks of Randolph and Todd Lacks of Washington, DC; one sister, Dolly Ann Owen and husband, Leon of Northern VA; three brothers, Carlton Lacks and wife, Linda of Poquoson, James Lee Lacks and wife, Glenda of Lunenburg, and Travis Lacks and wife, Judy of Stuart; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Beverly and two brothers, Raleigh Lacks and Manuel Lacks.

Graveside services were Friday, December 23 at 2 p.m. at Red Level Church with the Rev. Steve Dyer officiating.
