Ice expected to be present in winter storm

Up to two-tenths of an inch of ice is being forecast for Central Virginia due to the winter storm approaching this weekend. The Farmville area could see approximately 0.12 of an inch of ice.

The worst of the snow, possibly mixed with sleet and freezing rain, is set to come Saturday night and last into Sunday.

A winter storm watch remains in effect for the area, lasting until midnight on Sunday.

Probabilistic snowfall readings for Charlotte County indicate Friday night the county could see up to 4 inches of snow.
