In order to get a vision for Charlotte County’s new Comprehensive Plan county officials are seeking the input of citizens.

“The comprehensive plan will help guide the Planning Commission as it makes land use recommendations to the Board of Supervisors,” said County Administrator Dan Witt. “The Board of Supervisors will use the plan to guide its decision-making process related to the development, transportation, housing, etc., within the county.”

Earlier this year a presentation was made by the Commonwealth Regional Council on the process but now officials are asking citizens to participate in the survey on important local issues.

A comprehensive plan is a guide for managing future growth and development within a locality’s borders, as well as outlining community goals and assisting local officials with decision making. Public input is a crucial part of the comprehensive planning process, as it helps guide the development of the plan during the planning process.

The survey is available now and citizens have an opportunity to share their opinions on issues that are important to them.

The online survey can be accessed from the Charlotte County website www.charlotteva.com and the County’s Facebook page.

All information provided is confidential.

Surveys are also available at many of the county offices, libraries and several restaurants.

Surveys should be completed by May 31.
