Just days before the Christmas holiday, a Drakes Branch family has been left homeless following a fire that destroyed the mobile home they were living in.

Fire crews responded to a trailer park in the area of Shore Lane in Drakes Branch at around 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19.

All occupants of the home were able to escape without injury; however, their home has been deemed a “total loss.”

According to Drakes Branch Fire and Rescue Chief Kenny Tharpe, the cause of the fire was undetermined as of press time.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the family, and donations can be made by visiting https://gofund.me/6c6284ef.
