This Saturday, Dec. 11, the Charlotte County Christmas Parents will hold its toy distribution at the Drakes Branch Fire and Rescue building beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization accomplished what some said could not be done and provided toys for area children in need and is once again prepared to make the holidays a little brighter.
According to Desiree Lee, head of fundraising for the organization, currently, there are 173 children pre-approved. “Those that did not get pre-approved but may still be in need can bring proof of eligibility the day of distribution,” said Lee.
Lee said this year has been a true blessing as the organization was faced with obstacles throughout the year.
“I have seen us wonder how we are going to pull this off this year, as donations were down,” said Lee. “But then as I go and collect the toys, and I see that God always sends just what we need through those collections. I am reminded daily through this to have faith.”
