A 38-year-old Appomattox County woman has been arrested and charged with the breaking and entering and grand larceny of the Drakes Branch Dollar General Store.

According to Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office investigators, Jamie L. Mawyer was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 15, in connection with the Dec. 16, 2018 breaking and entering of the Dollar General Store located at 112 Saxkey Road, Drakes Branch.

Mawyer allegedly entered the store and hid inside until the store was closed, then proceeded to steal items before breaking out.

Mawyer was released on an unsecured bond and is awaiting trial scheduled for Jan. 7, 2021.
