Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) Superintendent Robbie Mason has confirmed that as of Wednesday, Sept. 2, there were three positive COVID-19 cases among CCPS employees across two different schools.
“We have had positive COVID-19 cases with staff members in two CCPS schools over the past week,” Mason said. “These employees are following self-quarantine guidance from the Piedmont Health District and the CCPS Health Plan. Employees at each of the affected schools have been notified of the individual cases in their schools.”
Due to the federal law restricting release of medical information, Mason said he could not release any further details.
The notice comes just days after the Virginia Department of Health’s COVID-19 database indicated a jump in Charlotte County cases in just more than a one-week period, with several of those cases being pediatric and school-aged children.
