The Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled the 43rd Annual Virginia Lake Festival for September 18 and 19.
In an announcement on the chambers website Sheila Cuykendall, executive director said, “Phase 3 starts July 1 and looking over the restrictions that the governor has cited limits the event beyond our control.”
Voted by the Southeast Tourism Society in 2020 as “One of the Top 20 Festivals In The Southeast,” LakeFest, as it is known locally, attracted nearly 20,000 visitors in 2019 to view hundreds of attractions including hot air balloons, arts and crafts, live entertainment including music and dancing, local and ethnic food, and the traditional “Gathering Of The Boats” and fireworks show.
“We know Lakefest is a huge economy booster for our community and this is why the decision was so hard to make.” Cuykendall said.
