Marching Statesmen win Grand Champion

On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Marching Statesmen traveled to Midlothian to compete in the Midlothian Showcase of Bands. The Statesmen won the following awards: second place percussion, first place color guard, first place general effect, first place marching, first place music, first place overall in Class A and Grand Champion for Class A and AA. The Marching Statesmen consist of Band Director Derek Ramsey, color guard sponsor Marlie Diggs-McMahon, Shelby Dunaway, Taylor Lacks, Madison Pettus, LeeAnn Nichols, Gabriela Rodriguez, Madison Newcomb, Hallie Watson, Aaliyah Drake, Gemma Lumpkin, Dameon Fields, Christina Smith, Josh Smith, Charity Walton, Chris Johnson, Qyaira Colbert, Samantha Eulert-Eller, Colby Bailey, Cy Brooks, Bailey Miller, Shelby Meyer, David Hamlett, Matthew Poling, Grace Freeman, Bishop Mooring, Josh Hamlett, James Dunaway, Daniel Hamlett, Victoria Ingersoll, Abbey Henry, Jaylon Hansen, Kathryn Santello, Diamond Boyd, Qaevon Rawlings, Joe Hengeli, Ryan Elam, Nicole Brandt, Bradley Wade, LaQuanda Lee, Brianna Smith, Chloe Lord, Alexis Hurt and Kelli Mitter.
