Ridgeway elected to board of directors

Jennifer L. Ridgeway has been elected to the board of directors of BCC Bankshares, Inc. and The Bank of Charlotte County. Ridgeway is currently the executive vice president of the bank.

“Mrs. Ridgeway is the first woman elected to the board in the history of our company,” Bobby A. Howard, chairman of the board of directors said. “She began work for the bank in 1973 and has worked in every department, rising to the level of executive vice president.  She has worked tirelessly and effectively in every position she has held. We wish her well and welcome her to the board.”

Ridgeway currently serves on the Charlotte Education Foundation Scholarship Committee and is a member of the American Morgan Horse Association and the Virginia-Carolina Morgan Horse Association.  She previously served on the Virginia Bankers Association Compliance Committee, 21st Century Community Learning Grant and the Longwood Small Business Development Corporation Advisory Board. 

Ridgeway is a 1989 graduate of the Virginia School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

A member of the Phenix Presbyterian Church, she and her husband, Robert, reside in Charlotte and Mecklenburg counties.  Their family includes their daughter, Bethanne Ridgeway Metts, her husband Chris and their son Rob Ridgeway and fiancée Erin Keena.  Jennifer Ridgeway has two granddaughters, Adyson and Ryleigh Metts.

Howard also announced the retirement of John L. Pillow from the board. Pillow was the company’s longtime chief financial officer and a member of the board since 2003.

The Bank of Charlotte County is headquartered in Phenix with additional locations in Keysville, Charlotte Court House, and Brookneal as well as loan production offices in Farmville, Lynchburg, South Boston, and Clarksville.
