OCTOBER 31

MONSTER MASH TOURNAMENT — Randolph-Henry High School Athletics is presenting the Monster Mash Golf Tournament Saturday, Oct. 31 at Briery Country Club. With a 9 a.m. shotgun start, the event will feature a four-person scramble format and an 18-team limit. All registration and hole sponsorship forms must be received by Oct. 26. TRUNK-OR-TREAT — Grace Community Church will be holding Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. Treats will be packaged and delivered in a hands-off fashion.

NOVEMBER 3

BLOOD DRIVE — Midway Baptist church is holding a blood drive Tuesday,  Nov. 3. From 2-6 p.m. COVID-19 precautions are in place and masks are to be worn. Please register in advance by calling 1-800-Red Cross or use the rapid pass to save time. Appointments are requested so only active donors are entering and social distancing can be observed. We look forward to your support of this much needed mission.

BEEKEEPER MEETING CANCELED — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 at 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office is canceled. For more information call Mary Jane Morgan at (434) 315-1433.

NOVEMBER 4

WEATHERING THE STORM — A program from the Charlotte County Extension office about how to cultivate a productive mindset will be held at the extension office on 133 LeGrande Avenue in Charlotte Court House Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. The cost is free. Participants must preregister by Monday, Nov. 2. To register, call Joanne Jones at (434) 542-5884 or email her at jojenki1@vt.edu. Wearing a face covering is required to attend.

NOVEMBER 7

BRUNSWICK STEW — Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department will hold its Brunswick Stew fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 7. Pick up will be by drive thru only from 8 a.m. to noon at the firehouse located at 1697 Palmer Springs Road (the intersection of Palmer Springs Road, Rough Road and Mineral Springs Road) in Palmer Springs. Stew is $8 per quart. Preorders are highly encouraged and can be placed by calling (434) 689-2631 or (434) 689-2661. The stewmaster is Larry Clark.

DECEMBER 3

SOYBEAN AND WHEAT PRODUCTION — A soybean and wheat production meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Registration is at 9 a.m. with the meeting beginning at 9:30 a.m. Face coverings are required for all participants. A zoom link is available for those who wish to attend virtually. GAME NIGHT — Come to the Gathering Place at 6 p.m. on the first and third Friday of each month for Game Night. Food is provided at this fun-filled family affair. The Gathering Place is located at Grace Community Church, located in Charlotte Court House next to Dollar General and across from the ball field. 

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County of Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at the Keysville Fire Station located at 500 Osbourne St behind Burger King at 3 p.m. Any questions, contact Dan at (434) 210-8383.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

LEBANON UNITED METHODIST — Until further notice Lebanon UMC on Crofton’s Gate Highway in Drakes Branch will be holding in-person worship at 11 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend.

CHARLOTTE COURTHOUSE UNITED METHODIST — Until further notice Charlotte Courthouse UMC will be holding in-person services at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Masks are required to attend. Services will also be broadcast on Facebook Live.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Rd., in Brookneal will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 am. Sunday School will be the first, second, third, and fourth Sundays at 9:45 am until further notice. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.
