FEBRUARY 24 

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM — The Central High Museum of Charlotte Court House will present their annual Black History program on Saturday, Feb. 24. That will begin at 1 p.m. at the Bluestone Harmony building in Keysville, located at 635 Bluestone Road. The theme of the program will be “A Struggle: Holding on to Freedom”. There will be a skit and the Confident Women’s Ministry will also perform, along with several special musical performances. Dinner will be served afterwards. 

FEBRUARY 25 

BLACK HISTORY SERVICE – New Witt Baptist Church will hold a Black History service on Sunday, Feb. 25, beginning at 2 p.m. The guest minister will be Rev. Dr. Calvin Gray and his congregation from the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Appomattox. New Witt is located at 7469 Meherrin Road. 

MARCH 2 

STEW FUNDRAISER — The Charlotte County Retired Teachers Association is sponsoring a stew at Keysville Auto Center on Saturday, March 2. Stew will be ready by 11 a.m., thanks to Stewmaster Butch Shook. The cost is $8 per quart, with profits going to projects benefiting students in Charlotte County Public Schools. MARCH 3 

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY — Mossingford Baptist Church, located at 3535 Saxey Road in Saxe, will celebrate 159 years of operation on Sunday, March 3. The service begins at 3 p.m. with a guest speaker. 

MARCH 9 

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY – Tabernacle Baptist Church will hold its pastor’s 24th anniversary celebration on Saturday, March 9. The service will begin at 2 p.m., with special guest speaker Pastor Tim Hurt from The High Bridge Baptist Church. The High Bridge Choir will also be performing. 

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST — Mossingford Baptist Church, located at 3535 Saxey Road in Saxe, will host a Unity Community Breakfast on Saturday, March 9, beginning at 9 a.m. 

MARCH 17 

WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAM — Mount Mitchell Baptist Church will hold its annual women’s day program on Sunday, March 17, beginning at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Deaconess Helen D. Smith of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Skipwith, with special music by the Rocky Mount Baptist Church Choir. The church is located at 1692 Fort Mitchell Drive.

CAR CLUB MEETS — The Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club meets the second Monday each month at Merk’s Place in Farmville. Eat in at 6 p.m., meeting at 7 p.m. Cruise ins are held on the third Saturday from April through October in the parking lot by Tractor Supply in Farmville. 5 p.m. till dusk. Any car owner is welcome to join the club or bring their car to the cruise ins.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390- 7012 to take part. 

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor. 

SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH — Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 125 Shiloh Church Road in Drakes Branch holds services every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham Jr. is the pastor. All are welcome. 

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 5104 Double Bridges Road in Meherrin. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Joe Reid at (808)-927-8910. 

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor. 

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice. 

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. 

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school. 

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
