Shirl Milton was chosen as the December Marigold of the Month for Charlotte County Public Schools. The paraprofessional at Randolph-Henry High was described by her co-workers as a wonderful person “whose positivity and light shine bright, creating a warm and inspiring atmosphere for everyone around her. Utilizing her wealth of life experience, Mrs. Milton goes above and beyond to encourage and inspire both students and teachers to give their best each day,” they said.

Randolph-Henry High Principal Erin Davis added that Milton’s kind word and genuine care extend not only to the students but also to the entire staff.

“Mrs. Milton’s willingness to step in, whether as a substitute, a reliable hand for photocopying, or the go-to person for the most unique science experiment supplies, showcases her unwavering dedication to the school community,” Davis said. “Beyond the daily tasks, Mrs. Milton has had a profound influence on students, urging them to think critically, consider the bigger picture, and ponder their future paths. Her encouragement transcends academic boundaries, inspiring excellence in sports, music, and even farming pursuits. In every sense, Mrs. Milton embodies what it means to be a marigold—a beacon of light and a blessing in our school community.”
