The Church and Community Events calendar is published each Wednesday. Items must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Monday for that Wednesday’s calendar. Email events to CommunityCalendar@TheCharlotteGazette. com. 

DECEMBER 2 

CHRISTMAS MUSICAL — “Hope Awakens in Bethlehem”, presented by the Charlotte County Community Choir, will be performed throughout the region. The first show will be on Saturday, Dec. 2, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Tirzah Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. The second show will be Sunday, Dec. 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Victoria Baptist Church in Victoria. 

DECEMBER 3 

RED HILL OPEN HOUSE — The annual Christmas Open House at Red Hill will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Patrick Henry Auxiliary sponsors the event, which is free to attend. Guests will take guided tours of the buildings at Red Hill, including Patrick Henry’s house and law office. Free hot mulled cider and homemade cookies will be available as well. 

CHRISTMAS CONCERT — The Commonwealth Chorale of Virginia will present its annual Christmas concert featuring something for everyone — from Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas.” The first concert will be held Sunday, Dec. 3, at Clarksville Presbyterian Church. That’s located at 502 Virginia Ave. in Clarksville. The concert is free and begins at 4 p.m. 

DECEMBER 5 

BEEKEEPERS MEETING — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. That’ll be held at the Prince Edward County Extension office, located at 100 Dominion Drive in Farmville. The group will hold a holiday potluck supper, with each member asked to bring some food to share. Also on the agenda will be elections and information about the bee school and upcoming conference. DECEMBER 10
