OCTOBER 20

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL — The Randolph-Henry High Statesmen football team will play a home game against Amelia County High on Friday, Oct. 20. The game starts at 7 p.m. and the school is located at 755 David Bruce Ave. in Charlotte Court House.

OCTOBER 22 – 26

REVIVAL – Mt. Nebo Church in Abilene will hold revival services from Sunday, Oct. 22 to Thursday, Oct. 26. Service will be at 7 p.m. nightly, with Evangelist Steve Freeman of Colonial Heights delivering the message. He runs Steve Freeman Ministries and has been a full-time evangelist for 30 years.

OCTOBER 22

METHODIST CHURCH FALL FESTIVAL – The Keysville United Methodist Church Fall Festival will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free, family friendly event with a bounce house, a cake walk, a chili cook-off and tasting.

OCTOBER 24

COMMUNITY SOLAR MEETING — There will be a community meeting at the Charlotte Court House Volunteer Fire Department on Tuesday, Oct. 24, to discuss the potential Lavender Solar project. The meeting will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the department is located at 608 David Bruce Avenue.

OCTOBER 28

FALL FESTIVAL – Spring Creek Baptist Church, located at 918 Darlington Heights Road in Cullen, will hold a fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be hot dogs and drinks served along with cotton candy and funnel cakes. A bounce house will be open, along with games for everyone and a train for children to ride. A new event added this year will be a maze for everyone to solve and then at 3:30 p.m., it’ll be time for trunk or treat.

OCTOBER 29

GOSPEL CONCERT – The CEJ Gospel Singers will be in concert at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch on Sunday, Oct. 29, beginning at 3 p.m.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH — Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 125 Shiloh Church Road in Drakes Branch holds services every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham Jr. is the pastor. All are welcome.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
