The church and community calendar is published each Wednesday. Items must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Monday for that Wednesday’s calendar. Email events to CommunityCalendar@TheCharlotteGazette.com.

OCTOBER 14

FOOD BANK – USDA food boxes will be distributed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House on Saturday, Oct. 14. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for those in the Phenix and surrounding Red House community who are residents of Charlotte County. 

OCTOBER 20

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL – The Randolph-Henry High Statesmen football team will play a home game against Amelia County High on Friday, Oct. 20. The game starts at 7 p.m. and the school is located at 755 David Bruce Ave. in Charlotte Court House.

OCTOBER 24

COMMUNITY SOLAR MEETING – There will be a community meeting at the Charlotte Court House Volunteer Fire Department on Tuesday, Oct. 24, to discuss the potential Lavender Solar project. The meeting will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the department is located at 608 David Bruce Avenue. 

COMING UP IN COMMUNITY CALENDAR

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP – A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part. 

MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH – Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 125 Shiloh Church Road in Drakes Branch holds services every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham Jr. is the pastor. All are welcome. 

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.

CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
