Two more competitions brought two more wins for the Randolph-Henry golf team this past week. As of Friday, Aug. 25, the group stood 14-1 on the season, still undefeated at 10-0 in district play.

Their closest competition so far this year came on Wednesday, Aug. 22, as they played against Nottoway and Amelia. Amelia High’s team came in third at 214, but Randolph-Henry only beat Nottoway by one point, shooting a combined 161 to Nottoway’s 162.

The last competition wasn’t exactly as close. The Statesmen faced off against Lunenbug and Buckingham, dominating with a win of more than 20 points. Randolph-Henry finished at 159, while Lunenburg came in at 182 and Buckingham’s team had 180.

Danner Allen led the way for Randolph-Henry, shooting a 38 on the day. That was the best score across the three teams. He was followed by last year’s Most Improved Player of the Year, Liam Hottle, who shot a 39. Parker Allen finished out the top three by shooting a 40 on the Par 36 course.

Last year ended with the Randolph-Henry golf team finishing in the Top Five in Virginia. They claimed first place in the regional tournament, first place in the district tournament and had an undefeated regular season.
