The Church and Community Events calendar is published each Wednesday. Items must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Monday for that Wednesday’s calendar. Email events to CommunityCalendar@ TheCharlotteGazette.com.

JULY 16

PACK THE PEW — The special “Pack the Pew” service will be held on Sunday, July 16, beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a morning worship experience, followed by lunch, with games and activities for all ages.

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY — Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 1303 Mt. Zion Road in Red House, will celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Pastor and First Lady Watson on Sunday, July 16. Morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. and afternoon worship starts at 2:30 p.m.

JULY 18

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION — Randolph-Henry High will hold new student orientation on Tuesday, July 18. The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon, with parents and students meeting in the auditorium for a slideshow, before going out for a campus tour.

BLOOD DRIVE — Midway Baptist Church will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross. It will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

AUGUST 9-11

REVIVAL — St. Level Baptist Church, located at 3 Highway 15 in Clarksville, will hold revival services Wednesday Aug. 9, Thursday, Aug. 10 and Friday, Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Rev. Michael Jackson, pastor of St. Matthew Baptist Church in Clarksville will deliver the message Wednesday. He’ll be followed Thursday by Rev. Brenda Hutchinson, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church in Boydton. Finally on Friday, Rev. James Moore, pastor of Lombardy Grove Church in South Hill will preach. The ministers will be accompanied each night by their respective choirs.

AUGUST 12

CHURCH PICNIC — St. Level Baptist Church, located at 3 Highway 15 in Clarksville, will hold a church picnic on Saturday, Aug. 12, starting at 5 p.m.

AUGUST 13

HOMECOMING — St. Level Baptist Church, located at 3 Highway 15 in Clarksville, will hold homecoming services on Sunday, Aug. 13, beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Toney W. Smith, pastor of St. Level, will deliver the message.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH — Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 125 Shiloh Church Road in Drakes Branch holds services every Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Horace B. Parham Jr. is the pastor. All are welcome.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. There will be no Sunday school.
