The season may be over, but as of Monday, there was still one more round of awards to give out. The Lady Statesmen tennis team received their end of season awards this week, as coaches Deborah Laine and

Murrie Bates handed them out.

For this year’s squad, Kandace Rutledge earned Most Improved Player, Emily Tharpe was named Best All- Around, Madeline Clatterbuck received the Coaches Award and Mary Scruggs was named Most Valuable Player, also known as the Shining Star Award.
