Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department honors members

On Sunday, Feb. 19, the Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department (BDVFD) held its yearly banquet recognizing members for their accomplishments for 2022.

“I am proud to have such an amazing team,” said Chief Will Stembridge. “They work hard and dedicate all they can to protect the community and help the fire department build for the future.”

Awards were given for Junior Firefighter of the Year, Officer of the Year, Firefighter of the year, Longest years of service and the Wade Stembridge Memorial Chief’s Award.

Lonnie Woods was honored for 54 years of service to the department.

“We can not thank him enough for his 54 years of service to the Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department,” said Chief Stembridge. “He is still active and is a vital component of the organization.”
