TAX SERVICE — The Tri-County Community Action Agency is offering free tax preparation services through the VITA program. To qualify, your 2022 adjusted gross income must be $59,100 or less. Current year personal income tax returns, business tax returns are limited. Federal and state tax returns will be e-filed by TCCAA. YOUTH SOCCER REGISTRATION — Charlotte County Youth Soccer spring registration is open for ages 4-18. No previous experience is needed. The fee for a player born in 2017-18 is $35 and a player born anywhere from 2004 to 2016 is $55. STEW FUNDRAISER — The Sisters of Alpha Delta Kappa will hold a stew fundraiser on Saturday, March 4 at Keysville Auto. The stew will be ready around 10:30 a.m., with a cost of $8 per quart. All proceeds will go into a scholarship fund for local high school or college students interested in the teaching profession. For pre-orders, contact Jennifer Grey at 434-547-4676.

ANNIVERSARY SERVICE — Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 1303 Mt. Zion Road in Red House, will hold an anniversary service for their Deacon & Deaconess on Sunday, March 5, at 2 p.m.

BLOOD DRIVE — Midway Baptist Church, located at 2595 Midway Road in Phenix, will hold a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. All who come to give will receive a $10 Visa prepaid card and be entered to win a $3,000 Visa Prepaid Card.
SEC WORKSHOP — Southside Electric Cooperative will provide some easy and inexpensive ways to save energy and money at a nearby community workshop. The Cooperative will host “Low-Cost ways to save big on your bill” on March 7 at the Charlotte County Administration Building, located at 250 LeGrande Avenue in Charlotte Court House. The event is free and family-friendly meetings will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
BEEKEEPERS MEETING — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet on Tuesday, March 7, beginning at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Prince Edward County Extension Office, located at 100 Dominion Drive in Farmville, near Lowe’s. Allison Wickham of Siller Pollinator Company will speak about Spring Build-up and Early Splits. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390- 7012 to take part.
ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.
HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.
PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
