JANUARY 21

WILD GAME DINNER — The Phenix Volunteer Fire Department will host a free wild game dinner, organized by Bethel Baptist Church. The event will take place on Saturday, Jan. 21, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It will feature wild game dishes, fried chicken, various sides, bread, drinks and dessert. There will also be door prizes like a muzzle loader, a portable grill, a bass rod and reel and a homemade Sportsman knife, along with some for the children as well. After the meal, attendees can listen to speaker Dan Witt.

JANUARY 25

OPEN HOUSE — The Charlotte Learning Center, located at 295 Thomas Jefferson Highway, will hold an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The goal is for people to come and see what education programs the group offers. JANUARY 31

BEEKEEPING FOR BEGINNERS — The Heart of Virginia Beekeeping for Beginners School will take place Jan. 31, Feb. 14, Feb. 21 and Feb. 28. It will run each night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office, located at 100 Dominion Drive in Farmville. The school consists of four non-consecutive Tuesday classes, plus a field day, with the date for that to be determined. The cost to attend is $50 and includes all classes, field day and one book. FEBRUARY 2

FIND YOUR VOICE — The Charlotte Learning Center, located at 295 Thomas Jefferson Highway, will hold a basic level class, adding music to the learning process. Students learn to better control skills that will assist with public speaking through basic sining techniques and vocal awareness. The event will take place Thursday, Feb. 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information or to register, call (434) 542-6782.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
