NOW UNTIL DEC. 16

KEYSVILLE FOOD DRIVE — The Charlotte Learning Center is holding a donation drive, collecting non-perishable foods for St. Luke’s in Keysville. The group will accept items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. If you stop by after hours, there is a box by the door to place your donation in. The Charlotte Learning Center is located at 395 Thomas Jefferson Highway, Suite B in Charlotte Court House.

DECEMBER 10

BAKE AND CRAFT SALE — The Charlotte Learning Center will hold its second annual bake and craft sale on Saturday, Dec. 10. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with crafting supplies and homemade gifts available for purchase. There will also be live music and caroling. The Charlotte Learning Center is located at 395 Thomas Jefferson Highway, Suite B in Charlotte Court House.

HOLIDAY CONCERT — The Longwood Center for Community Music will hold a holiday concert on Saturday, Dec. 10. The event begins at 11 a.m. at the Farmville Library, located at 1303 W. 3rd Street in Farmville. The concert will feature Longwood students and faculty performing holiday pieces and will be open to audience members of all ages.

DECEMBER 11

CAROLS AND CANTATAS — The Commonwealth Chorale will perform “Carols and Cantatas for Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Farmville United Methodist Church. The church is located at 212 High Street in Farmville. The event will combine classical songs with contemporary Christmas favorites, giving people a look at holiday traditions through the centuries. The concert begins at 4 p.m.

DECEMBER 17

CHRISTMAS BINGO — Central High Museum, located at 515 Thomas Jefferson Highway, will hold a Christmas Bingo event on Saturday, Dec. 17. Doors open at 1 p.m., with the games soon after. Bingo prizes include a flatscreen tv, a special jackpot prize of $200 and other items.

DECEMBER 18

BROOKNEAL CHILDREN’S PROGRAM — Brookneal Baptist Church, located at 304 Wickliffe Road, will host a children’s Christmas singing at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Dec. 18. The event will feature members of TeamKids, Children’s Church, the preschoolers and all other children at the church.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA – Following the children’s program on Sunday, Dec. 18, Brookneal Baptist Church will hold a Christmas cantata. Their choir will perform “The Song of Bethlehem”, written by Lee Black.

JANUARY 14

BEEKEEPERS CONFERENCE — The first Heart of Virginia Beekeepers Conference will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Longwood University. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Blackwood Ballroom. Online registration is open at https://hovabeekeepers. wixsite.com/hovbconference.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390- 7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
