NOVEMBER 19

STEW AND BAKE SALE — New Hope United Methodist Church in Schuffletown will have its annual stew and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 19. The stew will be ready by 11 a.m. and is $8 a quart. Pre-orders for either Brunswick or chicken stew can be made by phoning Callie Tucker at (434) 454-7418.

FREE COMMUNITY CHILI — There will be a free community chili meal on Saturday, Nov. 19 from noon until 2 p.m. Concord Baptist Church, located at 3225 Germantown Road in Charlotte Court House, will be the host. There will be prizes for the best chili, cornbread and dessert brought. Anyone who wants to compete can just call or text (434) 258-2272.

ORDINATION SERVICE — New Witt Baptist Church will hold an ordination service for Candidate Bro. Thomas Lewis on Saturday, Nov. 19. The council will meet at 1 p.m., with the service beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. Walter Fells, pastor of Mercy Seat Baptist Church, will deliver the message. New Witt is located on Farmville Highway South at 7469 Meherrin Road. The public is invited and asked to please wear a mask.

NOVEMBER 20

FRIENDS AND FAMILY DAY — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold Friends and Family Day on Sunday, Nov. 20. Rev. Jonathan Wade, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland will deliver the 11 a.m. message.

NOVEMBER 27

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY — New Rehoboth Baptist Church of Keysville will celebrate Pastor Rev. John Craighead’s fifth anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 27, during the 11 a.m. service. Rev. Ernest Goode will be the guest speaker.

JANUARY 14

BEEKEEPERS CONFERENCE — The first Heart of Virginia Beekeepers Conference will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Longwood University. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Blackwood Ballroom. Online registration is open at https://hovabeekeepers.wixsite.com/ hovbconference

WOMEN’S MINISTRY WORSHIP — A worship service with Confident Women Ministry is held every Sunday at 3 p.m. online via conference call. Services are led by Rev. Loretta Bailey and anyone is invited to call 1-657-390-7012 to take part.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
