AUGUST 14

HOMECOMING — New Witt Baptist Church, located at 7469 Meherrin Road, will have their homecoming service on Sunday, Aug. 14. Homecoming expressions begin at 9 a.m., with prayer and praise beginning at 9:30 a.m. The homecoming service will start at 10 a.m., with Pastor Winston Bland delivering the message. Masks must be worn and your temperature will be checked before entering.

HOMECOMING — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, 333 Thomas Jefferson Highway in Charlotte Court House, celebrates homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 14. The Rev. James E. Hurt will deliver the message at the 11 a.m. service. There will be no dinner following the morning service.

AUGUST 21

HOMECOMING — St. Andrews Baptist Church, located at 2200 Taro Road in Cullen, holds homecoming Aug. 21. The Rev. Maurice Finney will deliver the message.

AUGUST 22-25

REVIVAL — St. Andrews Baptist Church, located at 2200 Taro Road in Cullen, holds revival services nightly Aug. 22, 23, 24 and 25. Revival starts each night at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Wesley from Mt. Ellis Baptist Church as the guest preacher.

SEPTEMBER 24

WINE FESTIVAL — The Barksdale Cancer Foundation is holding its annual wine festival, “Miss Janie’s Sit & Sip,” from noon to 6 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Osborne Street Park in Keysville. Organizers have booked four local wineries this year. Tasting and non-tasting tickets may be purchased online through PayPal or by credit card by visiting the website, www.barksdalecancerfou.wixsite.com/mysite and clicking on the upcoming events tab. Note that the link is not supported through Google; so use alternate web browser when purchasing tickets). Advance tickets are $20 for tasting and $15 for non-tasting. Tasting tickets are $25 at the gate; non-tasting ticket pricing is the same at the gate.

ST. MICHAEL BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch holds worship services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays of each month Masks are required. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.

AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at 1426 Estes Road in Chase City. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Jason at (434) 944-9100.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen holds worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sundays. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. the first, second, third and fourth Sundays. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church holds services at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Sundays at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe holds in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix worship service is at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal worship service is at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
