For any Christ Follower you come to understand, that God cannot be, limited or confined. He is so big and beyond all understanding. He is vast and His presence is dynamic. Looking at Genesis we can see that God desired to walk among his people. According to the Word he walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. God enjoy us so very much that He continues to desire to walk with us today.

Exodus 25:8, “Have them construct a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.” David reminds us that he walks with us. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.” (Psalm 23:1-6)

Pondering the great love that God has for us and that he desires to walk with us – should make our heart jump with joy! The fact that God could have hidden himself from us but has not, is incredible. God loves us and desires to be with us. Looking at these Words we see, “The great God of creation, the God who inhabits eternity, wanted a place to dwell among His people!” Who are his people? Those of us that choose to follow Christ. We are His people. “No, the tabernacle in Exodus could not contain the infinite God, any more than the temple could. But this sanctuary, which was later made permanent in the temple, was one place on earth where God would meet his people for instruction, worship, blessing, and atonement for sin.”

1 Corinthians reminds us, “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.” Phil Wickham is right…” there is joy in the house of the Lord!” Finally, God made a way for us to be with him. He made the decision to send His son so that we may be with him for all eternity. This week let us glorify God as we continue to walk with Him every single day!
