OCTOBER 30

FALL FESTIVAL — Aspen Community Association located at 101 Aspen Wall Road, Phenix will host a fall festival on Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be vendors inside and a multiple family yard sale outside. Stew will be available for purchase by the quart. You can pre-order your stew by calling (434) 665-0108 or (434) 610-9449. Leave a message if no answer.

USED BOOK SALE — The Friends of the Charlotte County Library will hold a used book sale on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. – noon, at the Main Library located at 112 LeGrande Avenue, Charlotte Court House. The sale will be held outside and will be rescheduled in case of inclement weather.

MUSICAL WORSHIP SERVICE — Union Grove Baptist Church located at 2006 County Line Road, Keysville will hold a musical worship service Sunday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. Musical guests are The Powell Family from Raleigh, North Carolina. All are invited.

NOVEMBER 2

HEART OF VIRGINIA BEEKEEPERS — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers check-in time for the annual Fun Honey-Tasting is 6:30 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office located at 100 Dominion Drive, Farmville. The meeting will start there at 7 p.m. The competition is open to all who have extracted honey from their own bees in 2020 or 2021. Please bring your honey in an unmarked squeeze bottle. The club will have some plastic bottles available for those who do not have one. If you don’t have any honey, come to taste and vote. No spoons will go from jar to jar, since the honey is squeezed out onto your spoon, but please bring your own hand-sanitizer. AMATEUR RADIO MEETING — The Charlotte County Amateur Radio Club meets the first Sunday of the month at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building which is located at 4800 Drakes Main St. The meeting begins at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Dan at (434) 210-8383.

ST. ANDREWS BAPTIST CHURCH — St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen will hold worship service the first and third Sundays at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be the first, second, third and fourth Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney is the pastor.

BEAUTIFUL PLAIN BAPTIST — Beautiful Plain Baptist Church will hold services the second and fourth Sundays at 11 a.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church, Charlotte Court House until further notice.

HEBRON UNITED METHODIST — Hebron United Methodist Church in Saxe will hold in-person services at 9:45 a.m. until further notice. Masks are required to attend.

PHENIX UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Phenix United Methodist Church, 225 Church St., in Phenix will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.

MT. CARMEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, in Brookneal will have a worship service each Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. There will be no Sunday school.
