JULY 29
HIGH SCHOOL GOLF TRYOUTS — Randolph-Henry students interested in trying out for the golf team should report to Briery Country Club 9 a.m. Thursday, July 29. All players should have an athletic participation physical examination form completed with proof of health insurance. For more information, call (434) 315-3886.
MUSIC IN THE LIBRARY GARDEN — Vocalist and guitarist Davey Clark will perform from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Thursday, July 29 at the Library Garden in Charlotte Court House. Please dress casually and bring a lawn chair. In the event of rain, the program will take place at Village Presbyterian Church. This event is free.
JULY 30
TENT REVIVAL — Safe Haven Christian Ministries at 5150 Highway 360 in Meherrin will have two nights of tent revival services July 30 and 31 at 7 p.m. Bishop R.A. Johnson, Sr, his youth minister and youth choir of Kingdom Covenant Empowerment Church of Dinwiddie will preach God’s word and render music July 30. Pastor Gloria Eanes will preach God’s word and Steven Hurt will render the music on July 31.
JULY 31
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL — Concord Baptist Church will hold a Christmas in July themed Vacation Bible School (VBS) Saturday July 31 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. The church is located at 3225 Germantown Road in Charlotte Court House. The VBS is hosted by Cullen Baptist Church and Concord Baptist Church. There will be crafts, snacks and outdoor activities along with lunch and a practical Bible lesson. The VBS is for ages pre-school to sixth grade.
AUGUST 3
HEART OF VIRGINIA BEEKEEPERS — The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will meet Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office near Lowe’s in Farmville. The topic will be control of varroa mites in the beehive. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome.
