John Michael Jones, 72 of Phenix, passed away on May 9, in Farmville. He was the son of the late John Wayne Jones and Hedy Jo Jones and the husband of Marilyn Jones.

He loved family, fishing, hunting ground hogs, history, loved a good Western and a was a fiercely loyal friend to all he met.

He is survived by wife of 47 years, Marilyn Clark Jones, of the home; his daughter, Michelle Jones Owens (Greg), of Apex, North Carolina; his son, Benjamin E. Jones (Teresa), of Seattle, Washington; two granddaughters, Megan Louise and Hanna Elizabeth Owens; brothers, Robert Jones (Becky) of Christiansburg and James Jones (the late Debbie Jones), of Charlotte Court House, VA; a special fur baby, Bandit; three grand dogs, Tipsy, Oliver and Dexter and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte Court House. Please join us as we remember him, share experiences and the good times. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
