Multiple Charlotte County roads remain closed in the Lynchburg District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) due to recent storms.
According to a release from VDOT distributed Monday afternoon, Feb. 22, the following roads in Charlotte are still closed due to flooding or downed power lines:
• Route 619, Staunton Hill Road
• Route 649, Coles Ferry Loop
• Route 665, Harvey Road
• Route 691, Colonel Smith Road
VDOT advised no primary routes are closed at this time.
“We are continuing to work with our utility partners to ensure roads are reopened as soon as possible,” Assistant District Administrator for Maintenance Gerry Harter, P.E., was quoted in the release. “The highest numbers of closures are in the eastern part of our district.”
