Rochelle “Boodlum” Martin Smith of Saxe passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Jan.26. She was born in Halifax County on Nov. 5, 1938 and was 82 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Emmett Venable

Martin and the late Nellie Duffey Martin.

She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church. Rochelle was and will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.

Rochelle “Boodlum” M. Smith is survived by her daughters, Sherry S. Green and husband Bill of Randolph and Terry S. Klein and husband Gary of Red Oak; three grandchildren, Kristopher Klein (Jordan) of South Hill, Kaitlin Klein of Red Oak and Danielle Potter (Dustin) of South Boston; five great grandchildren, Camden Klein, Cailee Klein, Callan Klein, Everly Potter and Peyton Potter; one sister, Ruth M. Moore of Richmond and one niece, Michelle M. Muncy of Monroe, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by one Brother, Gilbert Kenneth Martin.

A private graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. at Providence

Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pastor Allen Murphy officiated.

The family received friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
