John Jasper Lindsey, Sr., affectionately know as Mickey, suddenly departed this life on Nov. 28. He was born on Aug. 8, 1935 in Saxe to Robert Lee and Ida Reid Lindsey. John retired from the U. S. Army in 1980 after 27 years of service. He was truly a kind, fun-loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend to all. John was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mildred L. Lomax; and brothers, Paul Lindsey, Sr. and James Lindsey, Sr. He’s survived by loving wife of fifty-seven years, Susie Terry Lindsey, Alexandria, VA; daughter, Tammi-Zee Lindsey, Alexandria and son, John J. Lindsey, Jr., Falls Church, VA; grandson, Michael Butts; Flo Lindsey, Melvina Morton, and Liz Ann Terry; brothers-in-law, Joseph and George Terry and Eddie Lomax; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family members. Funeral Services were held 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Galilee Baptist Church, Randolph, VA and interment with Military Rites at St. Louis Baptist, Charlotte C.H., VA.
