On October 29, James Ray “Cali” Davis, Sr. of Saxe, made his transition at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. He was born in Charlotte County on August 27, 1961 to Mary M. Davis and the late Oliver Garfield Davis. James served in the U. S. Navy after high school. He most recent job was as a truck driver with Kejaeh Enterprises in South Boston. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Felicia Cook Davis of the home; mother, Mary M. Davis; one daughter, Octavia Davis; sons, Alonzo Wilson, Daniel Davis and James Davis, Jr. (Dana); step daughters, Ciara Beasley (Sean), Traneeka Brooks and Kayla Cook; seven grandchildren; brothers, Rickey Davis and Irvin D. Davis; aunts, Dolly Boyd, Virginia Mosley, Sallie Bailey, and Hazel Mosley; uncle, Daniel Mosley (Mary Ann); mother-in-law, Sarah Prophet (Barney); sister-in-law, Zenobia Cook; host of nieces, cousins, and friends, including devoted friend, Kevin Hodges. Graveside Service was held 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 7 at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Randolph, with interment in church cemetery. Service of Comfort was provided by Dupee’s Funeral Home of Drakes Branch.
