Foster Fuels Mission Critical Division mobilized more than 45 fuel trucks to areas affected by Hurricane Laura in response to an emergency fuel activation order from the federal government. The fleet included fuel trucks carrying diesel and gasoline and multiple support vehicles.

Classified as a Category 4 major hurricane, Laura made landfall early August 27 near the Texas and Louisiana border. Laura ravaged the coast with wind gusts of up to 150 mph and has left more than 500,000 people without power.

“We needed to act quickly sending trucks to the areas most affected by Hurricane Laura,” Senior Vice President Will Rohrig said.  “In these situations, a matter of minutes could make all the difference.”

This deployment brings its challenges with the coronavirus pandemic.

“Every disaster has its challenges, but our team has been proactive about making sure protective measures were and are in place for those on the mission,” Rohrig said. “We have made safety our number-one priority in assisting recovery efforts in the aftermath of the storm.”

Foster Fuels Mission Critical is an industry leader in emergency fuel logistics. They hold the nation’s largest emergency fuel contract in support of FEMA and the Department of Defense and is celebrating 100 years of service in 2021.
