Patrick Henry Carrington Jr., who was affectionately known as “Pat”, was born on November 10, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Patrick H. Carrington, Sr. and Irene Walker Carrington, where he attended Central High School in Charlotte Courthouse, Virginia.

At an early age, he received the Lord, was baptized, and became a member of Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak, VA. Pat spent some years living in Washington, DC, and NJ before finally settling down in New York. He was currently residing in Long Island, NY. He was employed with P. C. Richards for the past 25 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work; as well as helping others, all the while with a humble and loving spirit. He was known for his strong work ethic.

He is preceded in death by his father, Patrick Carrington, Sr, mother, Irene Walker Carrington, sister, Rosa Walker Carrington Green, and daughter, Ingrid Michelle Sykes.

He is survived by his son, Darryl Carrington, daughter, Sharon Carrington; his brothers Woodrow (Georgianna) and Roland Carrington, grandchildren, Christopher, Torick, Jasmine Pope, and Jasmine Phillips; great grandchildren Aubree Carrington, Aubree Stewart, Aoki, and Torick, Jr.; loving and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Patrick was also preceded in death by his long time, loving companion Claire Franco.

He will be deeply missed by her children; Rosalie and Anthony, Connie and John, Joe and Joanne. Along with grandchildren Christopher and Virginia, Steven and Kimberly, Evan, Allison and Jake; including two great-grandchildren Bryan Patrick and Gavin.

He also leaves to mourn Timichia, Brian, Peggy, Ashaunti, Michaela, Joseph, Shyanne, Bri- Juan and Jyize.

“God saw the road was getting rough, 

the hills were harder to climb. 

He gently closed his weary eyes, 

and whispered, ‘Peace Be Thine’”. 

The members of the family extend their grateful thanks and appreciation to neighbors, and friends for all expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness extended.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
