William Lee Hamlett Sr., age 84 of Pamplin, Virginia, passed away on May 13, 2020. He was the son of the late Clarence and Elsie Hamlett. He was a lifelong farmer, but worked in the textile industry for 40 years. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and was married to his loving wife for 53 years.

He is survived by: his wife, Betty; a son, William Hamlett, II (Jane) of Pamplin, VA; three step-sons, Andrew Corbett of Staunton, VA, Mark Corbett of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Kennet Corbett (Pam) of Pamplin, VA; one brother, Clarence Hamlett, Jr. (Marion) of Drakes Branch, VA; two sisters, Shirley Denton Bennett of Chinquapin, N.C. and Mildred Richardson (Junior) of Pamplin, VA; three grandchildren, Joshua Corbett (Merry), Kenneth (Mary) and Bentley Wilkins; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Reid Corbett; one brother-in-law, Johnnie Lockridge (Doris) from Randolph, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Spring-Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Darlington Heights.
