Davis Mowery, 67, of Burke Street, Appomattox, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Carolyn Lyman Mowery.
Born in York, PA, on June 5, 1952, he was a son of the late Dorothy Dusman and Charles Walker Mowery. Davis was a Band Director for Randolph Henry High School and touched many lives throughout his career of teaching. He was a member of St. Andrews Anglican Church. Davis was very proud of achieving his pilot’s license. He was an eagle scout, a die-hard Yankee fan, and loved to grow things.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Zachary Davis and wife, Amy, and Adele Lyle and husband, Trey both of Keysville; one sister, JoAnne Barwick and husband, John of Winchester; two grandchildren, Sophie Lyle and Will Lyle; and five nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
