Spend time this weekend in prayer
“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV).”
“As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right. But be sure to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart (1 Samuel 12:23-24, NIV)”.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy’. But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect (Matthew 5:43-48, NIV)”. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality (Romans 12:12, NIV)”. “…pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:17, NIV)”.
“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Are any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven (James 5:13-15, NIV)”.
Prayer is a powerful, beautiful thing. It’s an open conversation we have with God. Spend this weekend in prayer, especially this Good Friday and Easter Sunday morning.
Pray in your home for those in your community to be cared for, then call/text them to check in.
Pray in your vehicle at the courthouse for our leadership, a school parking lot for the teachers, administrators, staff, a store lot for the employees and customers or an intersection for those who travel through your community. Pray for revival. Pray for all to grow closer to God during this storm of life. Pray for all to be smart, safe and sincere in their faith. Pray.
