The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation (WBWF) is hosting its annual event to honor military service.

Called 2020 American Heroes Day, the purpose of the event is to say thank you and to provide veterans and active service men and women with a day of fun and camaraderie in a natural setting.

This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, May 22 at The Cove in Clover. The group will host 75 military personnel along with a large team of military volunteers. Registrants are currently being accepted.

American Heroes Day will be action-packed. It will consist of friendly competitions in fishing, archery, skeet and target shooting and will include lunch and a hot dinner prepared on site.

There will be prizes and gift bags loaded with products for each individual to take home with plenty of time for networking, relaxing and socializing.

Donations to help with expenses will be accepted. No gift is too small. Sponsors wishing to pay for a specific part of the day’s activities should contact the group immediately to work out the details.

The WBWF is a 501C3 nonprofit. Donations are tax deductible. The group will provide acknowledgement letters to donors for tax reporting purposes.
