The Red House Volunteer Fire Department (VFD)spent Saturday, Feb. 22, training with other area fire departments. Training consisted of fire attack, hose deployment, mayday operations and victim and firefighter rescue drills. Firefighters from Pamplin, Appomattox and Concord also attended the training. Pictured is firefighter John Whitlow, with the Red House VFD practicing a rope bail that would be performed if fire conditions ever deteriorated so rapidly the firefighter couldn’t exit through the door.
