Former Randolph-Henry High School standout and University of Virginia (U.Va.) senior wide receiver and kick return specialist Joe Reed has been named one of four finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, announced the Louisville Sports Commission on Nov. 14, a U.Va. Athletics press release cited the same day. The award annually recognizes the most versatile player in major college football. In the 10th season of the award, Reed is U.Va.’s first finalist. The 17-person Paul Hornung Award National Selection Committee chose the finalists, with fans generating the 18th vote online. Fan voting for the ultimate winner continues through Dec. 8 at www.louisvillesports.org/paul-hornung/award-poll/ and will again count as the 18th vote.
