Bertina Hurtt, born on August 10, 1951, and died on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in Alexandria, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Annie Bell Hurt and her youngest sibling, Randy Jerome Hurt.

She is survived by her son, Charles Brandon Hurtt of Alexandria and siblings, LeRoy (Baltimore), Lorraine Beckwith (Philadelphia), Reginald (Eva) of Charlotte Court House, Ellen Frances (Raymond) of Richmond, Burnedine of Richmond, Toney (Janice) of Keysville, Ronnie (Patricia)of Florida, Janice Kimbrough (Tythus) of Virginia Beach, VA.

Bertina Hurtt was a graduate of Central High School of Lunenburg. After graduation, she accepted a job in Washington, DC with the FBI and later at Fort Meyers where she worked until retirement.

She accepted Christ as a child and grew spiritually in Lone Oak Baptist Church. Later in her spiritual journey, Bertina’s beliefs lead her to join the Jehovah Witnesses and was baptized on October 9, 2010.

Bertina, also known as BERT, will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Union Cemetery in Keysville. Condolences may be expressed atwww.JeffressFuneralHome.com. Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home of Charlotte Court House.
